Data protection: The protection of your data is important to us!
1. We are responsible for your data
The protection and security of your personal data is of the utmost importance to us. It is a matter of course for us to handle your data responsibly. We therefore process your personal data in strict compliance with the Basic Data Protection Ordinance (DSGVO) and the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG). Your personal data will only be processed by us if permitted by law or if you have given your prior consent.
We, that is the MDM Münzhandelsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG Deutsche Münze, Theodor-Heuss-Straße 7, 38097 Braunschweig, and our service providers who process your data on our behalf for the purposes stated below (hereinafter: MDM, we).
Our service providers include e.g. printers, lettershops, call centres, data centres, e-mail and Internet service providers. Our service providers are prohibited from processing your data for other purposes or for themselves.

It is important to us that you can find out at any time from the following information which personal data is collected during your visit to our website and when you make use of our services and offers and how we process them afterwards.
2. How secure is your data?
We take technical and organisational security precautions to protect your personal data against accidental or intentional manipulation, loss, destruction or against access by unauthorised persons and to guarantee the protection of your rights and compliance with the applicable data protection regulations of the EU (Art. 32 DSGVO) and the Federal Republic of Germany.
The measures taken are intended to ensure the confidentiality and integrity of your data and the long-term availability and resilience of our systems and services for processing your data. They should also quickly restore data availability and access in the event of a physical or technical incident.
Our security measures also include encryption of your data. All information you enter online is technically encrypted and only then transmitted. As a result, this information cannot be viewed by unauthorized third parties at any time.
Our data processing and security measures are continuously improved in line with technological developments.
It goes without saying that our employees are obliged in writing to maintain confidentiality and to comply with the data protection requirements of the DSGVO (data secrecy).

4. Which personal data are processed?
Personal data is data by which you can be identified or are identifiable. This includes e.g.:
Address data: Name, postal address, e-mail address
Telecommunications data: landline and mobile phone number, fax number, e-mail address
Registration data: Name, postal address, e-mail address, date of birth, telephone number
Purchase data: Article, quantity, prices, payment habits, ordering behaviour, discounts, VAT ID no., customer number
Financial data: Bank account data, credit card data
Application data: Cover letter, information on professional qualifications, curriculum vitae.
5. What are mandatory fields?
If certain data fields are designated as mandatory, mandatory or necessary fields and/or marked with an asterisk ( * ), the provision of this data is either required by law or contract, or we require this data for the conclusion of the contract, the desired service or the stated purpose. It goes without saying that the provision of the data is also at your discretion. Non-disclosure may result in the contract not being fulfilled by us or the requested service not being provided or the stated purpose not being achieved.
6 What is your data processed for?
a. enquiries
We process your data to answer your questions (Art. 6 Para. 1 b, f DSGVO). The communication of address and telecommunication data marked as mandatory is necessary in order to be able to process and answer your request. As a rule, we store the information from your enquiry for three months after answering the enquiry in the event of further enquiries. If this is a commercial or business letter, we store it for six years in accordance with the German Commercial Code (HGB) and the Fiscal Code (AO) (§ 257 Section 4 HGB, § 147 Section 3 AO, § 6 Section 1 c DSGVO).
b. Orders without and with online customer account
We process your personal data from your order initially for processing the order and for invoicing (Art.6 Para.1 b DSGVO).
Your data relevant for the order and the corresponding documents (e.g. commercial letters, invoices) are stored for six years (§ 257 Paragraph 4 HGB) or ten years (§ 147 Paragraph 3 AO) in accordance with the legal requirements after completion of the purchase.
You can also create an online customer account for your orders. We process your necessary registration data for setting up and using your online customer account and your orders (Art.6 Para.1 b DSGVO).
We store the registration data for your online customer account until you cancel your account, as long as there are no legal storage obligations, e.g. due to your orders.
c. Purchase of coins by MDM
We process your personal data from your offer to sell coins (address data, telecommunication data, purchase data, financial data, see above 4.) for processing the purchase and payment (Art.6 Abs.1 b DSGVO).
Your data relevant for the purchase and the associated documents (e.g. commercial letters, invoices) are stored for six years or ten years in accordance with the statutory requirements after completion of the purchase (see b above).
d. credit assessment
If we make advance payments, e.g. in the case of a purchase on account, we may obtain credit information from infoscore Consumer Data GmbH, Rheinstraße 99, 76532 Baden-Baden (Art.6 Para.1 f DSGVO) to safeguard our legitimate interests. To this end, we provide this credit agency with the personal data required for a credit assessment and use the information received on the statistical probability of non-payment for a balanced decision on the establishment, implementation or termination of the contractual relationship.

The creditworthiness data may contain probability values (score values), which are calculated on the basis of scientifically recognised mathematical-statistical methods and in the calculation of which address data, among other things, are included. Your concerns worthy of protection are taken into account in accordance with the statutory provisions (Art.6 Para.1 f DSGVO, § 31 Para. 1 and 2 BDSG).
Personal data concerning due, unpaid and undisputed or judicially determined claims will be sent to the credit agencies at the earliest four weeks after receipt of the first of a total of two written reminders, which will also make this data available to other companies for credit assessment if there is a justified interest (Art.6 Para.1 f DSGVO, § 31 Para. 2 No. 4 BDSG).
Within our group of companies (we, Richard Borek GmbH und Co. KG und Archiv Verlag GmbH, all Theodor-Heuss-Straße 7, 38090 Braunschweig), we submit a status report if we assume on the basis of defined criteria that a customer cannot fulfil future contracts (Art.6 Para.1 f DSGVO).
e. Ratings and Comments
We process your details in evaluations and comments, which you can also provide under a pseudonym, for the publication of your contributions (Art.6 Para.1 f DSGVO).
We store your information from your comments and evaluations as long as the corresponding topics and products are published on our website, after which they are deleted immediately. In the event of unlawful comments or evaluations, we reserve the right to store the data for a longer period in accordance with the statutory provisions (Art.6 Para.1 f DSGVO).
f. Public relations
email marketing
If you have provided us with your e-mail address when placing your order, we will also inform you as a customer by e-mail about offers that are similar to those you have purchased. You can object to this at any time at basic rates (§ 7 Paragraph 3 UWG (Law against unfair competition).
Otherwise, we will send you offers, information, customer surveys and competitions on coin collection by e-mail with your revocable consent, e.g. in the form of our newsletter (§ 7 Paragraph 2 No. 3 UWG, Art. 6 Paragraph 1 a DSGVO).
We process your obligatory data when you give your consent for documentation purposes and to be able to address you personally.
Postal advertising and customer analyses
We process the data from inquiries, orders and data collected outside the Internet to the extent permitted by law for postal advertising, also in the interest of partner companies from the mail order industry to which the data can be transmitted for their postal advertising, and for our customer analyses (Art.6 Para.1 f DSGVO). Extensive target group analyses to optimise our advertising are regularly pseudonymised on the basis of a customer number.
telephone advertising
Only with your consent, which can be revoked at any time, will you receive offers and information on coin collection by telephone (§ 7 Paragraph 2 No. 2 UWG, Art. 6 Paragraph 1 a DSGVO).
Documentation of consents
In order to obtain your consent for e-mail advertising, we use the so-called double opt-in procedure to prevent our e-mail advertising being sent to e-mail addresses of persons who have not requested them. Your IP address is also recorded and stored for documentation purposes (Art.7 Para.1, Art.6 Para.1 c DSGVO).
To obtain your consent for telephone advertising, we also record your IP address online and store it for documentation purposes (Art.7 para.1, Art.6 para.1 c DSGVO).
Advertising storage time
We store your data collected for advertising purposes until we receive a revocation of your consent or your objection to the processing of your data for advertising purposes (Art.6 Para.1 a DSGVO).

If we change the purposes of the processing in the course of time, we will inform you in advance by updating this data protection notice.
g. Online applications
If you apply for one of our job offers, we and our service provider Prescreen International GmbH, Mariahilfer Straße 1060 Wien (A) process your address, telecommunication and application data to process your application (§ 26 Abs.1 BDSG).
If the application process ends without employment, your data is regularly stored for another six months for documentation purposes and then deleted. The documents sent to us will be returned or destroyed.
h. Extended storage periods
The indicated storage periods may be extended accordingly if in individual cases, in particular if the data are processed for different purposes, a longer legal or contractual retention period exists.
7. Right of objection and revocation at any time
You have the right to object to the processing of your data at any time for reasons arising from your particular situation, provided the legal requirements are met (Art. 21 Para. 1 DSGVO).
If you object to the processing of your data for advertising purposes or would like to revoke a given consent (Art. 21 para. 2 DSGVO), a short message to our data protection officer by e-mail to datenschutz@mdm.de or by post to MDM Münzhandelsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG German Mint, Data Protection Department, Theodor-Heuss-Straße 7, 38097 Braunschweig, Germany. Your data will then no longer be processed for the purposes of advertising covered by the advertising objection or revocation of consent.
This does not affect the legality of the processing until the objection or revocation.
After your objection to the processing of your personal data for advertising purposes or the revocation of your consent, we are obliged under data protection law in accordance with Art. 21 para. 3 DSGVO to include the data required for this (name, address, e-mail address) in our internal advertising blacklist and to store (block) it permanently – only for this purpose – and to use it for comparison with our future advertising files (Art. 6 para. 1 c, f DSGVO). In this way, the observance of your advertising objection or the revocation of your consent can be permanently ensured.
8. What are cookies and what are they used for?
a. Cookies
“Cookies” are small files that are transferred to the hard disk of your computer via your web browser or other programs. These are stored locally on the hard disk of your computer and kept ready for later retrieval.
If you click on or remove the consent banner on our initial website, you agree to the use of cookies as described there (Art. 6 para. 1 a DSGVO).
b. Use of cookies
We use cookies, to enable and ensure the necessary technical functions (Art.6 Abs.1 b, f DSGVO) to make our website user-friendly and optimally adapted to your needs, so you do not have to re-enter your personal data.
to evaluate the visits to our website itself or by our contractors pseudonymously (web tracking) and to be able to show you interesting offers on our website as well as on websites in connected advertising networks (retargeting) (Art. 6 Para. 1 a DSGVO) and
to consider the rejection of cookies and/or the revocation of your consent to the use of cookies (“Do not track or retarget” cookies).
Session cookies are only used for the respective session. This allows you as a user to enjoy the convenient cross-page shopping cart display, for example, in which you can see how many items are currently in your shopping cart and how high your current shopping value is. These cookies are deleted after the end of the session, i.e. after leaving our website or by closing the browser window.
Other cookies remain on your terminal for a longer period of time and enable us to recognize your browser on your next visit (persistent cookies).
c. Deletion of cookies / revocation of your consent
If you wish to revoke your consent and switch off pseudonymised web tracking and retargeting, please click here on “Do not track or retarget”. This stores a cookie on your end device that stops both the pseudonymous collection of data on our website and the transmission of the pseudonymous cookie ID to our advertising networks for retargeting.
Please note that when all cookies are deleted, the “Do not track or retarget” cookies will also be deleted to comply with the revocation.

9. Web Tracking
a. Google Analytics
If you click on or remove the consent banner on our entry website, this website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Inc, USA (“Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies which are stored on your computer and which enable an analysis of your use of the website (Art. 6 Par. 1 a DSGVO). The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there.
However, by activating IP anonymisation on our website, Google will reduce your IP address within Member States of the European Union or in other countries party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there.
Google has submitted to the EU Privacy Shield (certificate available at: https://www.privacyshield.gov/participant?id=a2zt000000001L5AAI). Following a decision by the EU Commission, the EU Privacy Shield can be used as a basis for adequate data protection in order to transfer personal data from the EU to US companies that have certified themselves in accordance with the Privacy Shield.
On our behalf, Google will use this information to anonymously evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide us with other services relating to website and Internet use.

b. Econda
If you click on or off the consent banner on our entry website, econda GmbH, Eisenlohrstrasse 43, 76135 Karlsruhe (www.econda.de) creates pseudonymised user profiles of visitors to our website (Art. 6 para. 1 a DSGVO) for the demand-oriented design and optimisation of this website on our behalf using cookies. The cookies used by econda are not used to identify natural persons, but rather to count the users of our website and to assign various attributes to their pseudonym, such as the marketing channel through which a visit is made or the products last viewed. For this purpose, cookies may be used that enable the recognition of an Internet browser.
The pseudonymised user profiles are not combined with data on the bearer of the pseudonym. In particular, IP addresses are “masked” immediately after receipt by making the last two octets unrecognisable, making it no longer possible to assign user profiles to IP addresses.
Visitors to this website can also object to this pseudonymised use of data at any time.
10. Retargeting
In order to be able to show you advertisements that match your interests when you visit our website and other websites, we work together with advertising networks during retargeting. When you click on or off the consent banner on our entry website, these collect pseudonymised information about your usage behaviour on our and other websites with the help of cookies (Art. 6 Para. 1 a DSGVO). This data can be used to optimize the advertising display for you and to align it to your predicted interests.
You may revoke your consent at any time as described in Section 8c.
11. Payment by credit card
We offer you the possibility of payment by credit card (VISA, MasterCard). Please enter your credit card details when placing your order. For this we cooperate with the PCI-certified payment service provider SIX Payment Services (Germany) GmbH. Your data will be recorded there and stored for the payment process. We, the MDM Münzhandelsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG Deutsche Münze, do not store your credit card data. Access to SIX Payment Services GmbH is subject to the provisions of the Company.
12. Logging
Every time a user accesses this website or websites from our advertising network, data on this process is temporarily stored and processed in a log file (Art.6 Para.1 f DSGVO). These are:
Category or type of file accessed,
Date and time of retrieval,
the amount of data transferred,
Message as to whether the retrieval was successful,
The access method/function required by the requesting mobile device,
a description of the type of web browser used,
Referrer (website from which you accessed our website)
IP address.
The temporary storage of this so-called server log data is necessary to provide the service for technical reasons, for billing purposes with service providers and thereafter to ensure system security. The data required for billing purposes will be stored…. The data will be made anonymous at the latest after…… by shortening the IP address. Further evaluation of this data is carried out anonymously for statistical purposes.
13. How can you exercise your privacy rights?
If you have any questions about the processing of your personal data by us, we will of course be happy to provide you with information about the data concerning you.
If the legal requirements of the DSGVO are met, you have the rights of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), cancellation (Art. 17), limitation of processing (Art. 18), transferability of data (Art. 20) and the right to object to processing (Art. 21).
In all these cases, please contact our data protection officer (see 3. above) at the communication addresses given there.
Finally, you have the right of appeal to a competent data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 DSGVO, § 19 BDSG).
14. Changes
From time to time it is necessary to adapt the contents of this data protection notice. We therefore reserve the right to change these at any time. We will also publish the amended version of the data protection information here. If you visit us again, you should therefore read the data protection information again.
